Profession. I am a farmer by trade but my role as an adventurer is usually the healer. I mainly use my healing skills to help animals but I am very good at healing people too. I like to gather herbs while adventuring. Most people don’t notice but I pay great attention to all vegetation, especially if it looks like it can be eaten. I have not had a chance to venture too far from home yet so I have not had much opportunity to expand my knowledge in this area. I like to fish but more as a hobby than as a profession. I don’t like to turn fun into work.
Favorite Weapon. I like to use my bow because I like to stay out of danger. If creatures get too close I will not hesitate to chop them into little pieces with my scimitar. I rely heavily on my armor and shield in melee.
Obvious pet peeve. I despise people that kill for no reason. I hate creatures that pick on others just because they are stronger. I hate people that take advantage of their position in society unless they have earned it (and even then I don’t like it very much).
Characters ultra "likes". I like to fish because I like to get away from people and contemplate my dreams. There is something about the openness of the flat water that makes a person forget his worries. To be honest, I am not very good at fishing, I just like it. I like women a lot but one of my pet peeves is men that can’t keep their pecker in their pants. I disrespect men that think that having a lot of sex is the way to show their manhood. I don’t like people that drink way too much. There is nothing wrong with celebrating every once in a while but there is a lot more to do with ones money and ones time than to drink. I do not like to gamble either. I like the outdoors for the same reason that I love fishing. I like to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I don’t mind the city. In fact, one of my favorite things is to sit by a roaring fire in the inn with a bowl full of stew and to listen to an old man tell his stories of when he was a young lad and of his adventures. I don’t like bards too much because they always tell other peoples stories. I would like to meet a bard one day that can tell tales about himself (that are true). I also like the festivals in big towns because I like the variety of food and the smells of food. I mainly like the food. Odd as it may seem, I don’t really like to eat fish very much but I do like other types of sea-food. In fact, I am on a see-food diet (hehe – JK).
Background. I joined the Foothill Watchmen mainly to protect my young friend Eddie but I joined for myself because I felt that I was wasting away in my little home town. Eddie has taught me all that I know about fishing. He is the true expert on fishing. I talked Eddie into joining the watchmen because of all of the trouble that he was getting into back at home. If he would have stayed there the townsfolk would have corrupted him.
Personally. I always present myself as a well mannered gentleman. Even though I am not familiar with many customs I am well aware what most people think of as being ill-mannered just from common sense. I do not bathe myself as much as others do but I do try to keep myself clean if for nothing else but so that I don’t offend others. I do not put much into shaving either but my beard gets itchy when it gets too long so I do shave every once in a while. Luckily my beard does not grow very fast or thick. I am skinny for how much food that I eat.
Appearance. I have distinct oriental features but I do not know my true heritage. I was adopted by one of the local druids. My mother died giving birth to me. She was a traveler and no-one knew where she came from. She had only been in town for a day before she gave birth to me and she did not say much before she died. When complications arose from my birth the druids were called upon for medical assistance but they were too late. They were able to save me but not my mother. I do know my mothers name. Her name was Marion Lily. Her initials are engraved on a jade comb that I have that once belonged to her along with what I believe is my family crest. I have kept it in perfect condition in the original box that it came in. The box also has my family crest on it but with a difference than the one on the comb. The crest on the box has a rising sun in the background and the crest on the comb has a water lily in the background. One of my friends said that the rising sun represents newness or youth and that the water lily represents things that are stagnant or things that are not changing. I have no idea why they would be behind my family crest or on a comb or comb box. I have been offered 500 gold for the comb but I have not run into hard enough times that I have need to sell it yet. I am hoping that it might be worth more but for now it is worth more than gold to me. At least until I can research my heritage a little bit more.
I do not wear my armor at all times because it is heavy and it slows me down. I like to wear baggy cloths. I like to wear nice clothes but I don’t like to spend money on things like that. I would say that I wear average to nice clothes but I am a thrifty shopper. I like the color green.
I am proud to be part of the foothill watchmen because I like what they stand for. They are trying to do the right thing even though it is hard. They seem to want to help the needy and the weak and so do I. So far the leadership is good although at times they seem a little snooty. That is OK, though. I would rather work with someone that is snooty but knows what they are doing instead of someone that is nice but has no idea what they are doing. I wear the FW emblem whenever I can.
