Greyhawk

The Great Kingdom is sundered, collapsed into chaos after the terrible Greyhawk Wars. An insane overking, advised by a malefic priesthood and conversing with fiends atop his malachite throne, slew and revivified
many of his local noble rulers as animuses, undead creatures of cold, hateful passions.

Great armies once the envy of the Flanaess wander the
lands as freebooting mercenaries and pillagers, stripping the once-abundant treasures of this great nation.
More than 300 years of slow degeneration and decline have climaxed in an appalling tragedy. Hundreds of
thousands of men, women, and children have perished, and many more will follow in the years ahead.

Session 4

Planting 17th, Moonday: After defeating Jak the orc shaman, we searched the room fairly thoroughly. Beyond the puzzle box and some loot in the table Bryll discovered that the fountain in the center had runes indicating that it is a portal to the plane of water. And that if you can brave the waters and survive you could gain cold protection. Bryll and Spit both tried but gave up after being hurt by the cold badly. Taking the orc with us we searched the Kobold lair and the odd metal.

The kobolds were gone and we were not able to break any of the odd metal out of the rocks or find a loose chip. It was too strong for the regular picks we had brought so we left the cave to go back to town. At the exit we were met by a band of 7 hobgoblins who asked Lenith why we were still alive. In a brief fight we defeated the hobgoblins but were knocked and captured by Lenith and Inier. We loose all our gear and possessions.

Planting 22nd, Sunday: We arrive at the bandit cave to the east of where the watchmen believe it to be. We are put in a jail cell. Our attempts to bargain/bluff our way out fail. In the cell with us is a watchman, Inwar, who has been held for 2 years. Bryll starts trying to firebolt the bars when nobody is watching.

Flocktime 4th, Starday: After 10 days of effort a bar finally breaks and we escape. A prisoner/blacksmith working on forging weapons refuses to come along because if we will fail and the penalty is too harsh. We collect weapons, see signs that the Red Blades and the bandits are working together. We have learned that they plan on attacking Musrkad soon. The leader is Captain Beldra who has a hell hound pet and is Lenith’s boyfriend. We manage to fight our way out and flee but Bic is killed and Spit and Inwar (refered to as the prince by the bandits) knocked out and left behind.

Flocktime 8th, Starday: We make it back to Duvik’s pass and report what had happened, collect pay, clean up and find out that the disease has broken and ended. The mine owner offers us a deal for a lot of money if we get the widow to sell her share of the mine. We investigate a HUGE warehouse complex for sale, then are given some reward, offered to have some adamantine items made half price next month, and re-supply with basic items. We partially agreed to help convince the chief miner’s wife to sell, but do little to that end. There is a massive funeral/ceremony for all the dead.
