Flocktime 12th, Waterday: We left Duvik's Pass. It was still very cold at night but because of the use of horses we were able to make it back to Muskrad by the 14th and avoid much of the cold weather.
Flocktime 14th, Freeday: We tried to see someone of high rank in the Foothill Watchmen but no-one was available. We did manage to tell Genyeth Lyte one of the council members in the guild, she mentioned she would pass on the information.
Flocktime 15th, Starday: We enjoyed St. Cuthbert’s festival as best we could.
Flocktime 16th, Sunday: The Foothill Watchmen trained us for a week. They taught us some well needed Toughness Training.
Flocktime 25th, Godsday: We were summoned to see Camden and were given instructions for our next mission. Because we were not able to convince anyone of the importance of our information we were tasked with providing proof of what we said about the Redblade inline with the Shadow Bandits. Argoth had acquired hired help from the great church of St. Cuthbert to join us, a cleric named Theolonna. After regrouping the 7 foothill swordmen, we left that evening for the Shadow Bandit stronghold on horse back. The treck was quiet save for Theolonna preaching on the way, and eventually we stayed at the Blackwood Inn.
Flocktime 26th, Waterday: We passed the now familiar landmark of the river on the way back toward Duvik's Pass. There were signs that a storm was coming but we missed them. We were hit by a bad storm that evening and some of us took the weather poorly.
Flocktime 27th,Earthday: We tried to press on but the horses were not used to the extremely bad storm. We spent most of the day calming the horses, finding shelter, and healing ourselves.
Flocktime 28th, Freeday: The horses were particularly uncooperative and we spent most of the morning gathering and calming the horses again. By afternoon everyone was tired and we spent the rest of the day recuperating and recovering.
Wealsun 1st, Starday: We pressed on through the muddy and soaked hills and found the Shadow Bandit’s camp on the late afternoon of the first of Wealsun.
Wealsun 2nd,Sunday: We almost stumbled into the entrance of the enemy camp. We backtracked out of sight and made camp. Scouts were placed to attempt to ascertain the strength of the enemy but the enemy was not in the mood to move about much as the Sun was waxing and the air was getting colder. They were settling in for a cold night.
Wealsun 3rd, Moonday: After an uneventful but cold night we stormed the enemy hold. A sudden breeze of cold air forced us to light fires this morning but, lucky for us, the enemy was not out looking for us.
Tim a new member of our party, cast invisibility on Argoth who proceeded to hack up the two sentries, a h
obgoblin and human which were posted at the entrance to the Bandit camp. Leaving two of our own Watchmen to guard our back we entered the lair and chopped up all who dared draw weapons against us. Those left dead included the leader of the bandits and his two pets. Tim identified the two fire belching canines as Hell Hounds. At least one of the enemy escaped after attempting to backstab one of our party. When he failed he ran away (more like slid away) with much cursing and swearing.
We picked up a temporary companion in the form of a mound of flesh and muscle called an Ogre, who calls himself Ogrith. The Ogre helped us smash through the rest of the obstacles in our way both organic and inorganic. We discovered much in the way of loot and intelligence and we were successful in freeing several prisoners.
As we entered what we believe is the last room in the cave we finally caught up with our rival, Lenith. Sporting a guard on each side she slung a slew of disparaging remarks our way which bounced off of us like a tide of foam rocks off of a Hollywood stunt man. After a short monologue which failed to distract us, it appears that she is about to draw her weapons for a last stand. But who’s last stand is it…?
