Session 9

Day 5 of the Richfest Festival (Midsummer), 586 CY

With the lycanthropes in the Watch tower taken care of the party took a break and spent the day in festivities, buying and selling, and in identifying the loot gained in the assault. Kirk and Tim sold the hands and hearts they had been collecting, after some searching a locksmith was procured to open the small chest which contained an invisible ring and the Deathbringer, Argoth tried unsuccessfully to bargain on a new deep crystal weapon.

The later half of the day was more eventful. While in the festival area there was a very bad acting troupe. Several Grimlocks (eyeless humanoids) emerged from cover and started to slaughter the actors. The party defeated them but several townsfolk were killed. While trying to track where they came from we encountered Genyth's assistant who was hurt and told of Genyth being captured.

We tracked the attackers back to a warehouse where they filled the inside with magical darkness. When Argoth tried to enter he was hurt and backed out. Bryll began bashing down the door when an assassin snuck up, attacked and killed Argoth. The party managed to kill the other grimlocks who emerged but the assassin managed to run off hurt and escaped. In the warehouse Bryll eventually found Genyth under the floor boards, unconscious and tied up in a pile of partly eaten corpses. The town guard finally arrived and with help Genyth was brought to the watchmen’s tower while Argoth was brought to the temple of St Cuthbert where we tried to arrange for him to be raised. We did not have enough money but set about getting the missing funds. When Genyth awoke she pledged to help cover the costs. Bryll also had some private business related to the assassins in town that she started to think about.
